I'm having my coffee this am and still processing all we did and all the fun we had!
Barb and Laura were so good natured about the old Farmhouse, which didn't have indoor plumbing when built, so a bathroom was tacked onto the side of the house at some point.
This means to get to the bathroom, you basically step onto a small, screened in porch to get to it. When it is COLD out, and the middle of the night, well, that'll wake you up quick!
(such a lovely bathroom...not!)
Clever girls came up with a solution to finding their way in the night...
I cracked up.
A tea light trail! Perfect!
The Kramr family who sold me the place called while we were shopping at Marbuger Farms, and said they were in the area, so I left the girls to their shopping and headed back to the Farmhouse to meet them in person. Silvia Kramr is the matriarch ..she is 80 years old and acts and looks like she is 60. She looks so much like my Aunt Ann, it's amazing.
She is so sweet and funny too.
I met her daughter Jenice and her son Michael...along with the cousin's Kathleen and her husband Ron.
Jenice sent me these pictures of her and her grandbaby (!) in the bluebonnets at the house in Spring. What a little cutie he is! She said her daughter did their engagement pics at the house and sent these too:
Taking pictures in the bluebonnets is a Texas tradition...I will get me and Pheebes in spring, God willing..lol.
How cute are these photos below? These were taken about 5 years ago Jenice says. Now that pooch is all grown up and the little man has arrived. Such a nice family. Silvia even called me last night to make sure we got home okay! I feel like I am now part of the family! LOL
I wish I had got a picture of all of them out in front of the house, one visit we had almost all of them there...I don't know why I didn't think about it!
It was a Kramr family reunion on my lawn.
I really enjoyed hearing the stories of how the boys played soldier under the house, and how they got ready for dances, the boys at the Farmhouse, Jenice across the street at the aunts house.
They all promised to send me more pictures of the house when they were growing up as they come across them. I really like hearing and seeing the history. This place was LOVED.
